Everything you need to know about the December 12, 2025 International Pyjama Party for Night Trains
About the December 12, 2025 Event
What is the International Pyjama Party for Night Trains?
On December 12, 2025 at 20:00 CET, activists across Europe will gather for a coordinated action calling for more, better and affordable night trains. The event is organized in partnership with Back-on-Track Europe, Stay Grounded Network, and Aterra.
When and where is the event?
Date: December 12, 2025
Time: 20:00 CET (Central European Time)
Location: Multiple cities across Europe (details will be announced in early December)
Why are we demanding better night trains?
Night trains are an environmentally and socially just way to travel long distances. As the best alternative to air traffic, which must be drastically reduced for the sake of people and the planet in the midst of intensifying climate breakdown, they deserve to expand, not disappear.
But today you have far fewer night train options than in the 1970s. Just this year, the Paris–Vienna night train was cancelled – it's time to put the brakes on this and change the direction of travel.
That's why we demand that the EU and national governments:
- Cancel the cancellations! Ensure the Paris–Vienna train continues running and revive lost routes
- Join the dots! Ensure an improved, joined up European night train system that receives enough investment
